Best Posts of 2010
Last week you saw the most popular Help Everybody Everyday posts. This week I’m reflecting on the posts from 2010 that I felt represented the best that we published.
How to Get Published in ENR
After meeting with the editor-in-chief of Engineering News Record (ENR), several ENR writers, and public relations professionals; I set out to get my firm in ENR. After I accomplished this, I wrote about it in a two part series. After reading this article, the editor contacted me and let me know that it was spot on. Of all the posts from this year, I feel most proud of this one. The second part to this was Getting Published in ENR: How To Approach It.
I Like to Write The Cover Letter First
Kirsten Sibilia, Chief Marketing Officer at Dattner Architects, provided some really good advice on writing cover letters for proposals and packages. This post was rated 5 out of 5 by the readers.
Be a Rock Star For Your Firm
Brian Reilly of Smithgroup wrote this valuable piece providing advice to budding marketers, especially those working for design firms. This article was also rated 5 out of 5 by our readers and is worth a read.
Stop Sending Bad Email Newsletters
I wrote this after internal discussions about newsletters and deleting quite a few bad email newsletters. Since writing this, several people have called me to discuss this topic. I believe it provided people with some real help.
Marketing Tools: Livescribe Smart Pen
I did a series on tools that can make a marketer’s life easier. The Livescribe Smartpen proved to be the most controversial of these tools. It prompted this blog post from Matt Devries. But I still love and stand by the value of the smartpen. It’s an amazing product, especially for those who gather a lot of information by talking with people.
